Property Assessment

Purpose

All real estate and personal property in the Village of Monticello is assessed annually. The purpose of a property assessment is to assure that all property in the village is valued fairly and equitably for taxing purposes.

Open Book

Open Book will be held in the Spring at the Monticello Village Hall, 140 Main Street.  Date will be posted once determined. 

Open Book provides property owners an opportunity to meet with the Assessor to discuss their assessment. If you have questions, contact Village Clerk DaNean Naeger at (608) 938-4383.

Board of Review

The first meeting of the Board of Review will be held at the Monticello Village Hall.  Date will be posted once determined. 

Board of Review provides property owners an opportunity to contest their property assessment and address any issues not resolved at Open Book.  Anyone wishing to appear before the Board of Review needs to provide a written or oral intent to file an objection to the Clerk’s Office 48 hours prior to the first scheduled meeting of Board of Review.
